Definition :- Characteristic that defines sales-relevant features of document items. Offer item, order item, full credit memo, partial credit memo, barter deal, cash payment or separate agency commission are all examples of item categories.
Use :- To replicate and control sales of advertising services in the system using your business processes and define sales-relevant features of document items. Ad items are not to be billed until all schedule lines have been published or agency commission is to be granted separately in agency orders
Steps to Define Sales Document Item Category in SAP
Step 1 : - Follow the below menu path or enter Transaction code “VOV7″
- SAP R/3 IMG Menu Path : – Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents > Sales Document Item > Define Item Categories
- Transaction code : – VOV7
Step 2 : - Click on “New Entries” button to create new item category
Step 3 :- Update the following data
- Enter Item category key and description of item category
- Update the Business data (Completion rule, Billing Relevance, Special stock, Pricing, Sched.Line Allowed, Determine cost etc.)
- Select appropriate general control (Autom.batch determ, Rounding permited, Order qty =1)
- Transaction flow (Screen seq.Grp)
- Bill of Material/Configuration (config. strategy, Mat. variant action, variant matching, manual alternative etc.)
- Value contract ( Value contract matl, contract realese ctrl)
- Service management
- Control of resource – related billing and creation of quotations
Step 4 : - Click on save icon to save the configured data.
