This SAP article will guide you all about “How to Setup Partner Determination in SAP” step by step with screenshots. In this IMG activity, you check the standard allocation of the partner function SH to the partner determination procedure SP.

If you create a sold-to party, you must normally specify the partner with partner function SH . If you created the ship-to party previously for the account group 0002 in the partner determination procedure WESR, the R/3 System will find the MSDS recipient with the partner function SR (safety data sheet receiver) using the ship-to party. If the ship-to party has not been allocated an MSDS recipient with partner function SR, shipping is carried out for the ship-to party with partner function SH.

Steps to Setup Partner Determination in SAP

Step 1 :- Follow the below menu path

• SAP IMG Path: SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > Sales and Distribution > Basic Functions > Partner Determination > Setup Partner Determination

Step 2 :- On choose activity screen, click on “Setup partner determination for Customer Master”

Step 3 :- On change view “partner determination procedures”: overview screen, select new entries

Step 4 :- Select partner functions

Step 5 :- On change view “partner functions”: overview, click on new entries

Step 6 :- Update the following information

1. Enter function name and name of partner function


2. Enter partner function type


3. Check unique field indicator if the selected partner function is used only once or it can’t have the multiple partners of that function in the customer master data.

Step 7 :- Click save button to save the data.

Step 8 :- Select Account group and click on “new entries”

Step 9 :- Update the partner function and account group and press enter

Step 10 :- Select Partner Determination Procedure and go to new entries and define partner determination procedure

Step 11 :- Select defined partner determination procedure and click partner function in procedure

Step 12 :- In next screen assign the partner function to partner determination procedures

Step 13 :- Click on save icon to save the configured data.
