Definition :- Central maintenance and transport objects (maintenance objects) are divided into different object types.
Use :- You use object types to classify maintenance objects.
Structure :-
Maintenance objects are assigned to one of the following object types
Object type | Meaning | Comment |
S | Tables | Including their text tables All tables must have a generated table maintenance dialog that allows maintenance in extended table maintenance. |
V | Maintenance or help-view | All views must have a generated table maintenance dialog which allows maintenance with the extended table maintenance. |
C | View cluster | View clusters must be defined (transaction SE54 → Edit view cluster). |
L | Logical transport objects | |
T | Individual transactions which maintain table contents | |
D | Dummy objects | Dummy objects are only used in Customizing from Release 4.6A. They are not maintenance objects and thus have no object lists. |
Steps to Maintain Object types in SAP
Step 1 :- Follow the below menu path and click “Maintain Object types”
- SAP R/3 IMG Path :- Personnel Management -> Organizational Management -> Basic Settings -> Data Model Enhancements -> Maintain Object types
