A profit center group is a hierarchical structure of profit centers.

You can use profit center groups to group profit centers together according to company-specific criteria.

Use

Profit center groups are used for reporting, allocations or in various planning functions, where it is not desirable to enter or display data at the lowest level (with a high level of detail).

The standard hierarchy is a special form of a profit center group. It has to contain all profit centers belonging to the controlling area and reflect the organizational structure of Profit Center Accounting.

You can define profit center groups in the following places

 In Profit Center Accounting:

•  In Customizing under Master Data → Profit Center → Define Profit Center Groups


•  In the application menu under Master Data → Profit Center Group → Create/Change/Display  

In new General Ledger Accounting

• In Customizing under Master Data → Profit Center → Define Profit Center Groups


• In the application menu under Master Data → Profit Center → Profit Center Group →Create/Change/Display.

Steps to Create Profit Center Group in SAP

SAP R/3 Menu Path :- Accounting > Controlling > Profit Center Accounting > Master data > Profit Center Group > Create

Transaction Code :- KCH1

Step 1:- Enter Transaction Code KCH1 and press enter

Step 2:- Update Profit Center Group Name that you want to create.

Step 3:- Create Profit Center Group: Structure , enter the description and choose save to save the configured data.
